K-9 Mail Setup for Android

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to set up K-9 Mail on your Android device. Be sure to substitute our sample settings with your own login information.

Account Settings

Account type: IMAP
Incoming mail server: mail.invisibleink.com

Security type: SSL
Incoming mail server port number: 993

Outgoing mail server: mail.invisibleink.com

Security type: STARTTLS
Outgoing mail server port number: 587

Username: [email protected] (full email address, all lowercase)

Step1: Download K-9 Mail from the Google Play store, then open the app and tap Start.

Step 2: Enter your email address, then tap next.

Step 3: When you receive the “Configuration not found” error, tap Next to configure your account manually.

Step 4: Enter your incoming mail settings, then tap next.

Step 5: Enter your outgoing mail settings, then tap next.

Step 6: Specify special folders, if desired (we recommend leaving all set to Automatic), then tap next.

Step 7: Enter the display options for your new account, then tap next.

Step 8: Choose your sync and notification options, then tap next.

Step 9: Allow K-9 Mail to access your contacts, or choose Skip. You are now ready to use your new mail app.
